Ganesh (7,422 m), Mt. Purbi Chhyachu (6,637 m), Mt. Langtang (7,227 m), and many other snow-capped mountains (weather permitting).

After check-in, the rest of the day is free for your personal activities. You may relax after your journey or attend a short program briefing if scheduled. You can also take time to explore the vibrant streets of Thamel, the main tourist hub of Kathmandu, known for its lively atmosphere and wide variety of restaurants, ATMs, money exchange services, and shops.
Thamel is also famous for its colorful mix of traditional Nepali handicrafts, fine jewelry, clothing, souvenirs, and trekking equipment stores, making it an ideal place to stroll, shop, and experience the cultural energy of the city.
The flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara is a short and scenic domestic journey connecting Nepal’s capital city with the beautiful lakeside city of Pokhara.
After breakfast or hotel check-out in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to Kathmandu Airport for your flight to Pokhara. The flight duration is approximately 25 to 30 minutes.
During the flight, on clear weather days, you can enjoy spectacular views of the Himalayan range, including peaks such as Langtang Himal, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, and sometimes even Annapurna ranges as you approach Pokhara. The contrast between the busy Kathmandu Valley and the peaceful green hills and lakes of Pokhara is clearly visible from the air.
Upon arrival at Pokhara Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for leisure activities such as relaxing by Phewa Lake, exploring Lakeside area, or enjoying the peaceful surroundings of this beautiful valley city.
After breakfast at your hotel, we begin the drive towards the Mustang region. The road remains well-paved up to Beni, covering around 100 km in approximately 3 hours. From Beni onwards, the journey continues on a rough mountain road, following the scenic banks of the Kali Gandaki River.
Along the way, you will enjoy dramatic landscapes with deep valleys, river gorges, and beautiful waterfalls cascading down the cliffs. Upon reaching Tatopani, we take a short break to visit the famous natural hot springs, a perfect place to relax and refresh.
The drive then continues for about another hour to Kalopani, passing through several interesting viewpoints where we stop briefly to enjoy the scenery and take photos. We also pass traditional villages and cultivated fields that reflect the unique lifestyle of the region.
Further along the route, we reach Marpha, a charming and well-preserved Thakali village in Lower Mustang, known for its apple orchards, whitewashed houses, and narrow stone-paved lanes. Here we spend the night, experiencing the peaceful mountain atmosphere and local culture.
After the village exploration, we continue our driving journey. The route is a mix of rough mountain road and sections of blacktopped highway, passing through several small and culturally rich local villages along the way. The landscape gradually opens up as we move deeper into the Mustang region.
We reach Jomsom, the administrative center of Mustang and a forested river valley town. Here we take a short stop to explore the area. Jomsom is also an important highlight as it hosts the only airport in the Mustang region, surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery and strong winds from the Kali Gandaki valley.
The journey continues with possible visits to important and scenic sites depending on time, including the sacred pilgrimage site Muktinath, the traditional Thini village near Jomsom, the beautiful Dhumba Lake with its turquoise waters, and the ancient Kagbeni village, known as the gateway to Upper Mustang and its medieval-style settlement.
After completing sightseeing and driving through the fascinating landscapes of the Kali Gandaki valley, we continue towards Ghami village in Upper Mustang. Upon arrival, we settle in for an overnight stay in this remote and culturally rich Himalayan village.
Today is an exciting day as we finally reach the ultimate destination of this journey, Lo-Manthang, the legendary walled kingdom of Upper Mustang.
On the way, we pass through several beautifully carved Mani walls, prayer flags, and traditional Tibetan-style settlements that reflect the strong Buddhist heritage of the region. We also cross the large and culturally important village of Charang (Tsarang), known for its monastery, old palace, and wide valley surrounded by striking cliffs and desert-like landscapes.
Throughout the drive, we are treated to ever-changing panoramic mountain views, each section revealing a different angle of the Himalayan scenery. As we get closer, the unique walled city of Lo-Manthang gradually appears in the distance, standing dramatically in the middle of the high-altitude plateau.
Upon arrival, we check into a local tea house and take proper rest. This is highly recommended, as it helps the body acclimatize to the high altitude and prepares you for exploring the area comfortably.
In the evening, we enjoy a short walking tour around Lo-Manthang village, exploring its narrow alleys, ancient monasteries, traditional mud houses, and the fascinating lifestyle of the local people inside the historic walled city.
Today we will visit the remarkable Chhoser Cave area, where we find ancient multi-storey cave structures carved into the steep cliffs. These mysterious caves are believed to have been used in different periods as burial chambers, hiding places, meditation sites, and later even as monasteries. Despite ongoing research, the exact origin and purpose of these caves remain uncertain, adding to their mystery and historical significance.
Today’s program offers a full exploration of Lo-Manthang and the extraordinary Chhoser Cave region, making it one of the most enriching and memorable days of the entire journey.
In the morning, we take some time to further explore Lo-Manthang, enjoying its peaceful atmosphere, ancient monasteries, and unique walled city charm. This is a memorable chance to soak in the final views of this historic kingdom before beginning our return journey.
Later, we start driving back after a meaningful exploration around Lo-Manthang. The route retraces through the vast high-altitude plateau, where the landscape remains dramatic and open, with panoramic Himalayan views accompanying us throughout the day.
We continue our descent, passing through scenic villages and rugged terrain. On the way, we travel via Ghar Gompa, one of the oldest and most important monasteries in the region, known for its spiritual significance and ancient murals. We also pass through the striking Dhakmar village, famous for its red cliffs and unique natural scenery.
Finally, we arrive at Kagbeni village, the gateway between Upper and Lower Mustang. This historic settlement, located at the edge of the restricted Upper Mustang region, offers a fascinating mix of Tibetan-influenced culture and dramatic desert-like landscapes. We stay overnight here, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of this traditional Himalayan village.
The drive from Kagbeni to Tatopani is a long but extremely scenic journey, offering a beautiful transition from the dry high-altitude landscapes of Mustang to the lush green hills of lower regions.
Leaving Kagbeni, we follow the Kali Gandaki River valley, where dramatic cliffs, deep gorges, and wide riverbeds create a stunning natural corridor. Along the way, the barren, desert-like terrain of Upper Mustang gradually changes into greener hills, with small settlements, terraced fields, and traditional villages appearing on the slopes.
As we descend further, the scenery becomes more vibrant and diverse. We pass through charming villages, apple orchards, and cultivated farmland, while the mighty Kali Gandaki River continues to guide our route through the valley. Snow-capped peaks occasionally appear in the distance, adding a magnificent backdrop to the journey.
The road also offers views of waterfalls cascading down rocky cliffs, suspension bridges connecting remote villages, and locals living a traditional mountain lifestyle. The changing landscapes—from arid plateau to subtropical greenery—make this drive especially memorable.
Finally, we arrive at Tatopani, a peaceful village known for its natural hot springs, where you can relax and enjoy the soothing warm waters after a long and scenic drive.
The drive from Tatopani to Pokhara is a beautiful journey that gradually takes you from the deep river valley of the Himalayas to the peaceful lakeside city of Pokhara.
After leaving Tatopani, the road continues along the Kali Gandaki River for some distance, offering stunning views of waterfalls, steep cliffs, and terraced hillsides. The landscape slowly changes as we move lower in altitude—dry mountain terrain begins to give way to greener hills, forests, and cultivated fields.
Along the way, we pass through small roadside villages where local life is simple and traditional, with stone houses, small tea shops, and farming terraces on the hillsides. The journey also includes scenic suspension bridges over the river and winding roads carved into the mountain slopes, giving constant views of the valley below.
As we approach Beni and continue towards Pokhara, the road becomes smoother and the surroundings more lush and tropical. Rivers, green forests, and rice fields become more frequent, and the air feels warmer and softer compared to the high mountains.
Finally, we arrive in Pokhara, a beautiful lakeside city surrounded by hills and the distant Himalayan range. After several days in the remote Mustang region, Pokhara feels relaxing and refreshing, marking the end of an unforgettable mountain journey.
Today is a relaxing rest day in Pokhara, designed to enjoy some of the most beautiful highlights of this lakeside city while also giving you time for personal leisure.
Early in the morning, we can visit Sarangkot View Point, one of the best sunrise spots in the region. From here, you can witness a stunning panoramic view of the Annapurna range, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), and the surrounding valleys glowing with the first light of the day.
After returning to Pokhara, we enjoy a peaceful boating experience on Phewa Lake. The calm waters reflect the surrounding hills and mountains, and you can also visit the Tal Barahi Temple, located on a small island in the middle of the lake.
The rest of the day is kept free for your own activities. You may choose to explore Lakeside area, relax in cafés, go for a short walk along the lake shore, or simply enjoy the peaceful environment of Pokhara at your own pace.
After breakfast or hotel check-out, we transfer to Pokhara Airport for the flight to Kathmandu. The flight duration is approximately 25 to 30 minutes, making it one of the quickest and most convenient ways to travel between the two cities.
During the flight, on clear weather days, you can enjoy beautiful aerial views of the Himalayan range, including peaks like Annapurna, Manaslu, and Ganesh Himal. The transition from the green hills of Pokhara to the busy Kathmandu Valley is also clearly visible from the air.
Upon arrival at Kathmandu Airport, we transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the day can be used for relaxation, shopping, or optional sightseeing in Kathmandu depending on your schedule and interest.
Visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most important historical places in the city. It is like an open-air museum with many temples, courtyards, and old palaces built by the Malla kings.
Explore Kumari Ghar, where the Living Goddess (Kumari) lives. Sometimes, she appears at the window to greet visitors.
See Hanuman Dhoka, the old royal palace where Nepalese kings were crowned. At the entrance, there is a statue of the monkey god Hanuman.
Nearby, you can also see the large statue of Kal Bhairab and several other beautiful temples.
Visit Swayambhunath Stupa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with a history of over 2,500 years. It sits on a hilltop and offers great views of the city. The area is also known for its many monkeys, so it is often called the Monkey Temple.
This sacred site is a mix of both Buddhist and Hindu traditions, with many shrines, chaityas, and monasteries around. Despite the 2015 earthquake, the stupa remains strong and is still one of Kathmandu’s most loved landmarks.
You can see beautiful carvings, smell incense and butter lamps, and experience a peaceful spiritual atmosphere. Visitors and devotees walk around the stupa (a ritual called circumambulation) while spinning prayer wheels set into its base. The area is also surrounded by traditional houses of priests and monks.
And finally we will visit Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest and most peaceful stupas in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is a very important place for Tibetan Buddhism.
The stupa stands tall with its white dome and the eyes of Buddha watching in all directions, symbolizing wisdom and compassion. Every day, monks and visitors walk around it, spinning prayer wheels and offering prayers.
The area around Boudha is calm and spiritual, filled with monasteries, small shops, and the soft sound of chanting. It is a perfect place to feel peace, culture, and devotion in a simple and beautiful way.
Breakfast at the hotel. The morning is free for personal activities or last-minute exploration. You may enjoy a walk through the vibrant and lively streets of Thamel, where you can browse a wide variety of restaurants, traditional Nepali handicrafts, jewelry, clothing, and trekking gear shops. At the scheduled time, you will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
We wish you a safe journey and look forward to welcoming you again in the future. End of services.
